SaaS video production, by people who ship software.
Product tours, launch films, ad sets and customer stories for startups, software companies and digital products, and for the agencies and production houses who make films for them.
Everything moving here comes from films we made for Storafleet, our own cloud storage console: every bucket, on every cloud, in one place.
SaaS video production is one of our services at Active Idler, a corporate video production company based in Bangalore, India. We put your real product on screen and your real customers on camera.
We also ship software ourselves. The films on this page were made for our own product, Storafleet, a cloud storage console from Country Devs, so they were made with the same deadlines and the same budget questions you have.
Screen and camera
Most studios do screen or camera. We do both.
Animation studios make software look good and rarely meet your customers. Production companies film people well and rarely read your docs. A launch usually needs both, so we do both.
Your real product
We record your running app in a demo workspace with sample data. Nothing is mocked up, and no customer data reaches the edit.

Your real people
Customer stories, founder films and leadership interviews, filmed on location. We have filmed customer and leadership videos for New Relic in India since 2023, and India customer stories for GoDaddy in Delhi and Jaipur.

One film. Every shape it has to run in.
This is the ad series we made for Storafleet: seven films, one audience and one message each, delivered as 33 files. What you see here are short silent loops. Press any frame to watch the full film with sound.
YouTube and LinkedIn landscape
- The one message
- Your storage is spread across clouds. Storafleet puts all of it in one console.
- Delivered as
- 8 files, at 30, 15 and 6 seconds
Curious what all seven are selling? Storafleet is free to start, no card needed.
Product tours
The long one.
The whole of Storafleet in 5:18: eight chapters, every scene recorded in the real app. This is the film a buyer forwards to the rest of their team, so it has to answer the questions they would ask in a demo. Pick a chapter to see it, or press the frame to watch the whole tour with sound.
How we think
Thirty seconds, taken apart.
A short ad has no room for a spare word. Scroll through Three Logins to see what each beat is doing, and why it is there.
0:00 Hook
“Where’s the signed contract from March?”
The hook is a filename, typed large, so it lands with the sound off.
0:03 Pain
“S3? R2? The Backblaze account the agency left behind?”
A problem the buyer knows from their own week, in the words they would use.
0:07 Turn
“Three logins. Three layouts.”
The whole problem in four words, just before the product arrives.
0:10 Product
“Storafleet puts every bucket you own, on every cloud, in one console.”
The first product shot, a third of the way in. Real app, demo workspace, sample data.
0:16 Payoff
“One search box. Every cloud.”
The filename from the hook comes back over the search result. The opening question gets its answer.
0:20 Objection
“Move data between them, and we never charge by the gigabyte.”
One objection answered, with an on-screen tag that keeps the number readable without sound.
0:25 Close
“Every bucket. Every cloud. One fleet.”
One line to remember and one thing to do next.
The harder it is to explain, the more we like it.
Storafleet puts every bucket you own, on every cloud, in one console. Under the hood that means IAM roles, checksums and lifecycle rules. We turned it into a 30-second ad about a lost contract.
We read the docs, we talk to the people who built the thing, and we start with the buyer’s problem, not the feature list.
Built to last
Your product will change. Your film can keep up.
Most product films go out of date with the first redesign. Partway through the Storafleet tour, the dashboard was rebuilt, so we re-recorded every scene on the new version. Drag across the frame to see the same moment in the first cut and the final film.

We can do that because we make these films the way you make software. The recording is scripted against the running app, like an end-to-end test, and the edit is built in code. A changed screen means re-running the scenes it touches, not starting the film again.
What we make

The process
How a project runs.
- 01
Positioning
Who is this for, what do they believe now, and what should they believe after? We settle that with you before anyone writes a line.
- 02
Script
We write it. You approve every word before we record, and every claim gets checked against the product and a source.
- 03
Record
We record your running product in a demo workspace with sample data, and film your people where they work.
- 04
Edit
An edit normally takes 7 to 10 working days and includes two rounds of revisions, colour grading and music.
- 05
Deliver
You get every agreed length and shape, with captions, thumbnails and a publishing kit for each film.
Making a film for a software client?
Bring us in when a client needs a product film and your team does not do screen work. We work under your brand, and your client stays your client.
Running a studio yourself? Twenty Clients was made for you. Your clients’ files, on your storage, in one console: see Storafleet.
Questions software teams ask
It depends on the length, how much of the product we need to show and whether anything is filmed on location. We scope before we price, so send us the product and what you need, and we will come back with a clear figure.
It depends on the scope, and we give you dates with the quote. An edit normally takes 7 to 10 working days and includes two rounds of revisions.
Yes. We write it, you approve every word before we record, and every claim in it gets checked against the product and a source.
Yes. We record your running app, not a mock-up. We work in a demo workspace with sample data, so no customer data reaches the edit.

The recording is scripted against your running app and the edit is built in code, so a changed screen means re-running the scenes it touches. It does not mean starting the film again.
Yes. We have filmed customer and leadership videos for New Relic in India since 2023, and India customer stories for GoDaddy in Delhi and Jaipur. We are based in Bangalore and work across India and abroad.
Where it helps. The narrator on the Storafleet films is a synthetic voice and the music is original and generated, which keeps a re-render cheap when the product changes. The thinking, the script and the edit are ours. If you would rather have a voice artist, we will cast one.
No, it is ours. Storafleet is a cloud storage console from Country Devs, which shares a founder with Active Idler. It puts every bucket you own, on every cloud, in one place, and it is free to start at storafleet.com. Our client work includes customer and leadership films for New Relic, and customer stories for GoDaddy.
